Small memory cards may now be part of modern life, but not so long ago this wasn’t the case. The original hard disk drive stored 5 megabytes of data on 50 magnetic disks – each 24 inches in diameter. The IBM 350 RAMAC disk storage unit was operational in 1956. Now we talk about the size of memory cards in millimetres. Just take a look at the infographic below.
