This product is excellent for my purposes, which is backing up photos, music, films + various other data files. Only problem is, when using with an Apple MAC, it is not straight forward plug and play device. So that it is compatible with the MAC there is another file that has to be downloaded to make it compatible. Once this is done however, the Samsung Hard Drive has proven to be very good, and so far, reliable. I have since bought another one for a friends birthday.

Small, with good memory capacity. However Mac users be alerted. I was not aware that in order to work with my Macbook I would have to wipe off all of the prewritten programmes, including the security. I suspect that will invalidate the guarantee but its the only way to get it to work with a Mac.

Going to use this for transferring all my dvd's and my LP collection as I digitise it on my pc. A quality product, only to be expected from Samsung. Haven't yet figured out how to use the portable secret zone that is pre=loaded on the unit.
